Summer Bishil was born in New York City. She is best-known for her part as Margo Hanson, in Syfy's fantasy series The Magicians. Her previous role as a Lebanese American young woman Jasira who is undergoing an array of struggles in the context of U.S. conflict in Iraq was part of Alan Ball's film Towelhead. The film was later selected as one of the 10 actors in Variety's list of Actors to Watch for 2007. She was in 2009 when she was the formidable Taslima in Crossing Over. She was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead for the film. The other roles in her film include the film Moozlum The Last Airbender Pop Star, Under the Silver Lake and a number of guest TV appearances.
